My ceramic wall sculptures are inspired by the beautiful and captivating forms and colours of living fish, plankton and sea slugs.
Some are based on tropical fish, others on the fascinating species to be found right here around the shores of Ireland.
In my studio by Kinsale, where fish swim past the bottom of the garden, I shape every piece by hand and paint every piece with its own specially mixed and layered glazes.
Each piece is unique.
Over thousands of years, in many different cultures, fish have been seen as symbolising
Happiness; Freedom; The Life Force; Good Luck; One-ness and Faithfulness; Abundance; Creativity.
I use their dynamic shapes and vibrant, life-enhancing colours to create a sense of joie-de-vivre.
