Sculpting the Spirit of the Sea
I create unique ceramic wall sculptures inspired by the beautiful forms and vibrant colours of fish, sea slugs and plankton. Working from my studio near Kinsale, Ireland, I shape every piece by hand and paint each one with specially mixed and layered glazes.
My journey into ceramics began after retiring from full-time work. After nine years of weekly pottery classes, I established my own kiln in a glasshouse in my garden and began developing my distinctive marine sculptures. My first fish was sold in 2010, when I was 64.
Today, my work has been exhibited through galleries and craft exhibitions in Ireland, with pieces finding their way to collectors in countries including the USA, Canada, South Africa and the UK.
Each piece is unique. Each one is made by hand.
